Just when you think you've conquered your self image issues for the most part and you are thinking you look pretty good a gay man comes along and ruins your day...or in my case thinks you are 9 months pregnant and about to go on maternity leave.

Let me repeat for those that maybe thought they misread. Apparently I look like I'm about to give birth to an infant. While I appreciate his enthusiasm for my future family (and can I just confirm that I am NOT PREGNANT!) I can't help but feel the urge to never, ever, ever eat again.

So how do you overcome a setback like this? I am feeling pretty good, going to spin class every week, feeling a little slimmer and bam I look pregnant.

I need some time to mull over this one...

I fall in love with Autumn every year

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year!

Here are a few of the reasons why:

Apple Cider
Football
Hockey
Hoodies
Halloween
Mums
Pumpkins
Hiking
Crisp Fall days
Sporting Clays
My wedding anniversary!
Walking the dog through the park
Bonfires
Pumpkin Spice Coffee
Holidays without drama
Oktoberfest
Seven Springs

and the smell of fall, it makes you long for 6 months of its beauty

I think historically Fall is the time when I settle my schedule down and actually enjoy my life a little more. I

Wishing everyone a happy fall, a glorious autumn and a bountiful season full of big smiles, good smells and many memories.

Feeling Good, Loving Life, Eating Clean...

Its amazing how a little soul searching can bring us full circle back to where we once were and right back to the reality of life. It is so easy to slip into bad habits, mentally and physically but it's what we learn from each cycle in life that pushes us a little further.

I am working on each facet of myself but mostly trying to figure out the emotional connection with food. Focusing on eating clean and being healthy one tiny step at a time makes a difference in how we feel, how we look and how we perceive our efforts. (PS-cucumbers aren't just for puffy eyes!)

As a chronic over achiever I am constantly striving for something more. While this can be a good quality it can also be detrimental to my forward progress. I am learning to take things one step at a time. It's not about one giant accomplishment but a thousand little steps that add up to a smile.

Happy Wednesday!

Lots of Love & Optimism,
Krystyn

Another 5.25 Inches Gone! Summertime here I come...

So I go back and forth between actually using the Self Challenges website and employing my own tactics to stay on track. I am happy to announce I have lost another 5.25" from my waist! Whoop Whoop! (I decided to stay off the scale due to my past unhealthy obsession with it and just relish in the amazing accomplishment in inches! This in itself is a huge step for me.)

Nutrition is always hard to stay on course with because there are so many temptations and it's easy to let food control you instead of the other way around. I often wonder if this will be a lifetime struggle or conquering food or if it will dissipate as I get closer to my goal. With close to 100 lbs lost you would think I would have kicked it by now!

On the fitness front...After getting the go-ahead from my Hip guru Ron, I have been soo excited to start running again. I am still run/walking and I am looking forward to my first 5k back on June 9th. I love evening races and it's a great wooded park so I am really looking forward to it! In other news I have gotten back into Pilates. I simply love it and nothing works the core out like a good Pilates class with an amazing instructor. Physique Rx'd is amazing and I highly recommend going and meeting Lynsey and giving Pilates a chance! I have a long time love affair with Yoga but I am really loving the burn of Pilates.

Stay tuned for more as summer gets closer and keep pushing towards your goals! You are so worth everything you want in life and it's something I constantly have to keep reminding myself of.

Ahhh!

I can't believe it's been over a month since I have blogged! Life has been absolutely crazy and my eating habits have been erratic. I am really having a hard time these days sticking to my eating plan. Willpower just seems to escape me. With less than 6 weeks until my 30th birthday now, I feel the pressure and the crunch. I am pissed at myself for not being to my goal weight and all of a sudden I want a quick fix. (Not going to happen!)

I need to find my way back to hard work, willpower and healthy options. I have all the tools. I need to implement them. I can make all the excuses in the world but when it comes right down to it, I haven't been on my game.

Stay tuned to see how the next 6 weeks evolve.

ps-Happy Mothers Day!

What a week...

This week has been bad on the food front, as soon as I think I am on track...boom...off I fall again.

Here is to a better day and an even better weekend.

On the activity front I have been kicking ass and taking names this week (minus some hip pain). Jason and I boxed last night which was fun! I am hoping we do more of that together. I am looking forward to nice weather. I feel like I always eat better when it's warmer out! Not to mention being more active!

The self challenge is going pretty well minus a couple of nutrition mishaps but I still really like the program and enjoyed a lunch from their top picks today.

I hope everyone has a great day!
